This homeowner in Poinciana wanted to enjoy their backyard more by turning a small rear lanai into a spacious, enclosed screen room. MD Construction handled the entire process, including HOA approvals, and turned a basic patio into a comfortable retreat for any season.
We started by removing the old screen walls and lifting the existing pavers. Next, we poured a fresh 4-inch concrete slab with decorative acrylic, thickened edges for added strength, and a Deco Drain system to move rainwater away from the home. We also added a custom door pad for smooth, easy access.
To finish the structure, we installed a 3-inch insulated aluminum roof that adds shade and helps keep the space cool. The new screen walls were built with strong 2×3 aluminum framing and a combination of 16-inch Hardie Board and 8-inch smooth aluminum kick plates in bronze. This combo offers low-maintenance protection while blending with the home’s exterior.
Now, what was once a small open patio is a breezy, bug-free screen room that’s ideal for morning coffee, relaxing evenings, or weekend hangouts all year long.
